From time to time, I have to acquire new body parts...

Now some of you have perked up at me saying that...

Not internal body parts though. More like replacement parts for my leg - my prosthetic leg.

Almost eleven years ago a little purple bump showed up on my left foot, just on the outer side close to my pinky toe.

To me, I thought it was just a varicose vein that could be going bad with wear and tear on my then 43-year-old body.

Within weeks that bump grew to the size of a golf ball!

I couldn't put any shoe on it. Over that summer I would endure an MRI, seeing different doctors, and a biopsy on that foot.

Sitting with a friend in the doctor's office, I made light of the situation.

It's what I do when I am anxious.

He came in and sat down; looking grim he said, "You have cancer, and you might need to lose your foot.

Good thing I was sitting down.

The room got hazy and my brain became foggy.

He said, "There's another tumor wrapped around your ankle." The cancer, Synovial Sarcoma Stage 3, was spreading up past my ankle toward my lower leg.

Four reoccurrences after that, also...

Five cancer battles...

Several surgeries and illnesses that almost killed me...

But God...kept me here.

I'm very thankful to be here and share my experiences with others as they go through their own journey.

As for my prosthetic leg, I recently acquired a fancier foot. It has special hydraulics that gives me an extra "spring" in my step - at least for my left side.

Now to find a shoe for my right foot to match...Ha!

No matter what battles you face, God is walking beside you. He knows how empty and draining it is to face this alone.

Just know...He will provide and uplift you in every battle you face.

Blessings,

Kim

What an inspiring testimony. I had a sister in-law that lost a leg up to under her knee cap. I always felt sorry for her the prosthetic never really fit correctly. This lady has a very positive outlook on life. A lot of ppl. would not adjust as well. God bless her and her testimony. Thanks for posting what a beautiful lady with a beautiful story. J. Pappas
