Just Stop!

Written by: Bill Sparks Posted on: May 12, 2022 Blog: Thoughts along the way

This is one of the most uncomfortable truths I have ever had to embrace and try to live...

"Christians don't get in trouble for what they don't know...but for what they know but won't do." -Unknown

Knowledge is good, but ask yourself...

-Will knowing more about God make you more obedient?

-Will memorizing scripture make you love others better?

-Will a Greek/Hebrew word study bring a greater sense of grief/burden for those held in sin's crushing grasp.

Jesus simplified the daily walk, and although you may not believe it...

Jesus said ALL the law and the prophets are held in obedience to these 2 "great" commands...

LOVE GOD....LOVE PEOPLE

If you think it doesn't work, remember that the initial followers of Jesus didn't have a...

-Bible

-Church Building

-Sunday worship in an organized church culture with all the "right" stuff

-Political clout

-Bank Accounts

-Self help/Christian living books

-Any reliable means of transportation

-Social media account

-Offering Time

And because of their faith in a man who predicted his own death, burial and resurrection, YOU have salvation and the Gospel at your disposal.

You don't need more of anything except what those early believers needed...to follow Jesus.

This is so true. Being in a narcissistic relationship for the number of years and now having time to be on the outside looking in, I couldn’t agree more.
