Don't Give Up

Don’t Give Up!

“It is finished.” (John 19:30)

Our inability to finish what we start is seen in the smallest of things.

A partly mowed lawn.

A half-read book.

Or, it shows up in life’s most painful areas:

An abandoned child.

A wrecked marriage.

Any chance I’m addressing someone who is considering giving up?

If I am, I want to encourage you to remain.

I want to encourage you to remember Jesus’ determination on the cross.itisfinished.jpg

Jesus didn’t quit.

But don’t think for one minute that he wasn’t tempted to.

Did he ever want to quit?

You bet.

That’s why his words are so splendid.

“It is finished.”

This past weekend was one of those times that I felt like quitting. Liver acting up, reminding me that I have a terminal disease (extremely slow moving, but no cure), and that my life isn't what it once was. But I spent some much needed relaxation on Sunday and alone time with God. It always helps. But I've been close to quitting lots of times.

I may rest sometimes but I never, ever give up...I've been knocked down so many times and yes I'm bruised but God nudges me to keep going!
