I agree that public presentations are important to Gilead's success. Churches and civic groups are good avenues to pursue, and I would also like to expand 'sharing the journey' with school children as young as elementary age. With so much cancer and other chronic illness in families today, children are often scared and confused by what goes on around them. Children have open, giving hearts and are often eager to give or raise money to something dear to them. They already help make Christmas cards, and we could expand their involvement in our mission that would encourage lifelong giving. There are currently five generations of givers, and I would like us to find creative ways to reach all of them. Celebrating and communicating Gilead's successes is also important in maintaining enthusiasm and commitment to our mission/vision. I'm looking forward to hearing celebration ideas, because that is something I have struggled with in working with coworkers.
