Chapter 6 ~ Whaddifs and Howells

Written by: Bill Sparks Posted on: October 31, 2016 Blog: GrowLead

I don't know about you, but I am worried no one will be able to beat worry...

It seems like such a beneficial activity, or so it seems, because it is one of the most often experienced mental activity known to the average American. Especially since there is an election in just nine mind grueling days.

I have to say, I worry whether Christians will ever love each other again after they find out that someone they know voted for the wrong party! After all, DON'T THEY KNOW WHAT IS AT STAKE!

Wow, worry, worry, worry...

Max has it right, we really are "divided" starting inside our hearts and working it's way outward.

As a person whose personality lends itself to the temptation of "spinning wheels" type of anxiety, I have to admit, this chapter always bothers me.

Not because I think Max is wrong. It is because he is SO RIGHT.

I worry I will never ever be able to read this book without having the anxiety of being confronted with the way in which I don't make "The Lord... my Shepherd..."

I was wondering, what do you think about when you read Max's thoughts. Here are a few for you to ponder, and maybe comment...

~"Since I know his provision if timely, I can enjoy the present."

~"Could it be that God will reveal the answers to you when the time comes."

~...learn to master your life by living each day in a day-tight compartment."

~"God isn't going to let you see the distant scene... So you might as well quit looking for it."

~"We do not need to know what will happen tomorrow.. We only need to know he leads us and "we will find grace is when we need it." (Hebrews 4:16 NLT)

Well, another week begins and another chapter follows. Don't be in a hurry to rush past these truths and get your "work done". Set and savor this meal and let your soul be lead "beside still waters."

Looking forward to hearing you thoughts...

Even though I know that God has a perfect plan for me, and I trust him completely, I often find myself anxious about the outcome of a situation. Because I trust him I usually imagine that the answer will be the result I have prayed for. When it's not, and I'm disappointed or angry, I have to remind myself that he knows what is best for the big picture. There are a lot of regrets that could've been avoided if I had only taken the time to truly listen to God (and acted accordingly) rather than asking for things to be my way.

It bothers me as well that I know He will and always has "given me my ticket" at the right time but I continue to circle some mountains way too many times! Then I have the nerve to ask myself "why" am I going through the same mental gymnastics I have gone through in times past... knowing He provided before and He will provide again. Believe it or not I actually remembered one time that He would provide and decided to trust God in the situation... guess what He came through! He is ever faithful I just need to learn to rest in that faithfulness...
